Kira Tosefsky MD/PhD candidate
Department of Medicine
I am a current MD/PhD student in the Experimental Medicine program with a BSc (Hon.) in Cellular, Anatomical and Physiological Sciences from UBC. I completed my undergraduate honours thesis in cellular neuroscience under the supervision of Dr. Shernaz Bamji. I am now pursuing my PhD under the supervision of Dr. Silke Cresswell at the Pacific Parkinson’s Research Centre, where I am investigating the effects of nutritional interventions on the gut microbiome, inflammatory biomarkers, and clinical outcomes in patients with Parkinson’s disease. I am interested in leveraging data science innovations to improve the efficiency and lower costs of patient-centered clinical research.
Research Interests: Data science, microbiome, metagenomics, clinical trial design, machine learning
