Dr. Mahmoodur Rahman MD, MPH, MDS
Lead, Research and Knowledge Translation / Provincial Infection Control Network, Provincial Health Services Authority
Mahmoodur currently works as Lead of Research and Knowledge Translation in Provincial Infection Control Network (PICNet), which is a Health Improvement Network (HIN) program of Provincial Health Services Authority (PHSA). He completed his Master of Data Science from UBC, Vancouver in 2022. Rahman obtained Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery degree from University of Dhaka (Bangladesh) in 2013, and Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Independent University, Bangladesh in 2019. From 2014, he has been working in International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh (icddr,b) in different capacities with focus on Maternal and Child and Newborn Health, as well as quality of healthcare delivery system. Apart from leading and managing several research projects funded by USAID, WHO, NIH, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation as co-investigator, Mahmoodur contributed to several peer-reviewed articles, abstracts, conference proceedings and reports. Mahmoodur has been exposed to several provincial data during his course of work and academia. To name a few, BC Chronic Disease Registry, Hospital Acquired Infection (HAI) data, and provincial covid-19 data. Rahman’s interest lies in using data science to improve population health and well-being.
