Healthy Aging Research Seminar (Dr. Ting Wang)

February 26, 2024, 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm

The Edwin S.H. Leong Centre for Healthy Aging in the UBC Faculty of Medicine is hosting a hybrid research seminar. Dr. Ting Wang is the inaugural Sanford C. and Karen P. Loewentheil Distinguished Professor of Medicine and Head of Genetics Department at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis.

Dr. Wang studies the genetic and epigenetic impact of transposable element (TE) on gene regulation. His group is known for defining the widespread contribution of TEs to the evolution of gene regulatory networks as well as to the 3D genome architecture, and for revealing that epigenetic dysregulation of TEs is a major mechanism driving oncogenesis.
