Our Cluster will apply to the 2022/23 UBC Grants for Catalyzing Research Clusters (GCRC) Competition
As a new and emerging cluster, our DASH Cluster has made noticeable progresses on all four pillars of our vision last year. We have created strong relationships with many leading individuals, institutions and industry partners in the field of data science and health - including governmental organizations, UBC's faculties, and other insitutions within and outside of Canada. We have hosted many spaces for state-of-the-art knowledge exchange, from UBC-accredited CPD to workshops and lecture series. We actively incorporated our working groups' guidance into our initiatives and fostered professional growth of our trainees.
We would like to expand our works in the following year, again as an emerging cluster. We hope to continue our discussions with BC's health authorities to streamline data access hurdles and reform the data governance structure, scale our metadata commons project to encompass all of UBC Faculty of Medicine's studies, and include a fifth pillar, Data Adoption, to address cultural changes required to achieve a learning health system.
We extend our thanks to all our members, trainees, and partners for their continued support as we push our vision forward. Their expertise and input are eminently important in this process - we hope to maintain this strong relationship as we, together, strive to achieve a better health data ecosystem that will support BC's responses to emerging clinical challenges.
