Bio:
Miini Teng is a 4th year medical student at The University of British Columbia (UBC) and the Data Science and Health 2023 Trainee Research Award Recipient. Prior to medical school, she completed a BSc and MSc in Occupational Therapy, both at UBC.
Miini has a unique background in occupational therapy and data science. She has worked as a data science fellow with the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and has conducted research in age technology and digital literacy. Her work also includes collaborating with people with disabilities to pilot remote assessments to evaluate how the design of human-computer-environment interactions can be optimized for compassionate care. Her research interests include age technology, AI ethics, digital literacy, and human-computer interactions.
