Dr. Dwayne Tucker Postdoctoral Research Fellow
Dwayne Tucker is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of British Columbia and Arthritis Research Canada, under the mentorship of Dr. Mary De Vera. He brings a strong foundation in clinical laboratory science and holds an MSc in Oncology from the University of Nottingham (UK) and a PhD from the Faculty of Medicine at UBC. His doctoral work, focused on identifying clinical and biomarker predictors of pain in individuals with endometriosis. As part of this research, he developed a machine learning–based model to help guide surgical decisions. This experience deepened his interest in chronic pain and the use of data science to improve clinical care. His postdoctoral research explores the pharmacoepidemiology and health outcomes of rheumatoid arthritis treatments, particularly during pregnancy. He is passionate about leveraging data science and large-scale administrative health data to support pharmaceutical care and clinical decision-making in rheumatoid arthritis.
