Dr. Lianping Ti

Dr. Lianping (Mint) Ti, PhD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. She is also a Research Scientist and Health Administrative Data Lead for the BC Centre on Substance Use. Her research largely focuses on understanding the intersections between substance use, infectious diseases, and the delivery and efficacy of healthcare systems. Dr. Ti’s research utilizes longitudinal, population-level administrative linked datasets to understand access and utilization of health services, as well as to evaluate harm reduction and other health service interventions among people who use drugs.

An epidemiologist by training, she leads a project of a province-wide, population-level linked administrative cohort that aims to evaluate naturally occurring policies and interventions to optimize health systems for people living with substance use disorders. Dr. Ti’s research program also involves the scientific evaluation of systems-level substance use and harm reduction interventions, including drug checking services and a hospital-based opioid stewardship program. She also has international research experience working on a serial cross-sectional mixed-methods study to explore experiences with access to health and harm reduction services among people who inject drugs in Bangkok, Thailand.
