Cultivating Data Literacy in BC 

Enhancing data literacy through the development of new education programs

 

UBC has a vibrant AI ecosystem; however, linkages to the medical training and health research infrastructure at UBC remain underdeveloped. Despite our strengths in engineering, statistics, data science, and medicine our training programs are siloed and there are few formal avenues for interaction between these specialties. With rapid advances in the field, it is critical we build an understanding of data science and its implications for health care delivery.
